In ihrer ersten institutionellen Einzelausstellung zeigt Anna Herrgott im Kunstmuseum Heidenheim eine Auswahl ihres vielfältigen Schaffens.
Anna Herrgotts künstlerisches Schaffen dreht sich um den Begriff und die Vorstellungen von Schönheit. Im Zentrum ihres künstlerischen Interesses stehen Ideale, die durch die Mode- und Filmindustrie verbreitet werden. So konfrontieren uns fortwährend mit perfekten Bildern, denen wir nacheifern sollen, die jedoch niemals zu erreichen sind. Die Folge ist ein ständiger Wunsch nach Veränderung und Optimierung potenziell jedes Körperteils.
Herrgott macht bereits die internalisierten Wunschbilder deutlich und sucht nach Strategien, diese zu persiflieren oder zu dekonstruieren. So werden die Models auf Modemagazinen durch ungeschönte, echte Bilder ersetzt oder mit politischen Botschaften aufgeladen.
Die Arbeiten der rheinland-pfälzischen Künstlerin zeichnen sich durch eine handwerkliche Präzision und einen subtilen Humor aus. Ein wiederkehrendes Motiv ist das des Spiegels.
Mit der Ausstellung schlägt das Kunstmuseum eine Brücke zur Werkschau „Spieglein, Spieglein…“ im großen Wechselausstellungssaal und fügt dieser eine weitere Facette, nämlich die des (kritischen) Selbstbildes hinzu.

In her first institutional solo exhibition, Anna Herrgott is showing a selection of her diverse work at the Kunstmuseum Heidenheim.
Anna Herrgott's artistic work revolves around the concept and ideas of beauty. At the center of her artistic interest are ideals that are disseminated by the fashion and film industries. We are constantly confronted with perfect images that we are supposed to emulate but can never achieve. The result is a constant desire to change and optimize potentially every part of the body.
Herrgott already makes the internalized ideals clear and looks for strategies to satirize or deconstruct them. The models in fashion magazines are replaced by unembellished, real pictures or charged with political messages.
